Lovell has myriad outdoor opportunities: boating, fishing, swim beach, hiking, golf, skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking from the Shoshone River to the Big Horn River, and more. Enjoy these activities in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area along with four historic ranch/town sites that can be explored as well as the Yellowtail Wildlife Habitat Area, a hunter's paradise. 
                             
See the wild horses north of Lovell, part of the first ever federal wild horse range. The Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range was designated to protect the Spanish heritage horses. 

                                    

Enjoy a round of golf at Foster Gulch 9-hole course located a few miles outside of Lovell at 929 Lane13.  We also have tennis courts on 8th Street and at the Lovell Middle School, racket ball courts in the LHS gym. Call the Lovell Recreation Department for more information – 307-548-6466.

Our Olympic size swimming pool is a nice place to cool off. Summer pool hours are:
Lap Swim      M W F                     5-7 am
Public Swim   M T W Th F Sat      1-4 pm
Public Swim   M Th                        7-9 pm

The town wading pool at Constitution Park, along with a regulation horseshoe pitching area. The sheltered picnic area with barbeque pits is a nice place to spend the afternoon. It also has a large playground area, basketball hoops, skate park and softball field. Wading pool is for children 7 years of age and under. Located at 7th and Garfield the hours are:

In downtown Lovell visit the Historic Hyart Theatre featuring one of the largest screens west of the Mississippi, considered to be one of the finest small-town theaters in America. Movies are shown weekly.
                             
The Bighorn National Forest provides opportunities for everyone; the hiker, fisherman, hunter, camper, horseback rider, skier, snowmobile and four wheeler riders.
